Your First Visit

Complimentary Consultation

At your first visit to our office, Dr. Mallory will perform an orthodontic evaluation, make treatment recommendation, and answer any questions that you have at this time. If Dr. Mallory determines that you need orthodontic care at this time, we will set up an appointment for orthodontic records to be taken in our office. There is a fee of $300.00 for the records, and it is due at the time of service. Complete diagnostic records typically include a medical/dental history, clinical examination, plaster study models of the teeth, photos of the patient’s face and teeth, and X-rays. A consultation appointment will be set up 3 to 10 days later to review Dr. Mallory's personalized treatment plan for you and to finalize the financial arrangement. This information is used to develop a custom treatment plan for each patient. These records are also helpful in tracking the progress of treatment as the teeth move under orthodontic care.

Regular Appointments & Office Policies

Although there is an ever-changing number of adults receiving orthodontic treatment, the majority of patients are of school age. Therefore, it is impossible for us to see all patients after school. For this reason, lengthy procedures are scheduled in the mid-morning and shorter visits in the afternoon and early morning. Our office follows Decatur ISD's closures for bad weather.

To avoid unnecessary delays in treatment:

Please call and inform us of any loose or broken braces even if your appointment is the next day.

Please call 24 hours in advance to change appointments.

Orthodontic appointments vary from 2 to 6 week intervals and are made many weeks in advance. As a courtesy to our office and our other patients, we will be rescheduling patients that arrive more than 15 minutes late. Rescheduling a missed appointment may result in a less desirable appointment time.

The appointment when you get your appliances (braces, expanders, etc.) usually takes 1 to 2 hours. You’ll then see us at regular intervals 4 to 8 weeks apart for an adjustment, which takes 20 to 40 minutes. Patients are seen by appointment only. We make every effort to be on time for our patients and ask that you extend the same courtesy to us. If you cannot keep an appointment, please notify us as soon as possible.

Payment

Cost

The cost of treatment depends on the severity of the patient’s problem. You will be able to discuss fees and payment options before treatment begins. We have several payment plans to suit different budgets. We work hard to make orthodontics affordable.

Fees

In an effort to keep orthodontic fees down while maintaining the highest level of professional care, we have established this financial policy:

  • If full payment is made at the onset of treatment, we will offer a fee discount. (If you have insurance, we will offer a discount for payment of your portion of the fee that will not be covered by insurance.)
  • To fit your individual needs, financial arrangements can be made to extend your payments over a period of months.
  • For your convenience, we accept payment by Visa and Mastercard.

Insurance

If you have insurance, we will help you to determine the coverage you have available. We will help in every way we can in filing your claim and handling insurance questions from our office.
